Rally career

A Réunion adventure, begun in 2005.

2005

First competitive start

My first rally was the 1000 Km, in a Peugeot 106 F2000/13 with my cousin Alix Fontaine. We finished third in class.

A class win in the Clio

My second rally was again the 1000 Km. Driving an ex-works Renault Clio Group A, I finished ninth overall and first in A7.

My own Subaru

A Subaru Impreza GT Group N, previously owned by Johnny Picard, became my first personal rally car. With Gaël D’Eurveillher, I finished second in Group N at the Tour Auto and won the group at the 1000 Km, taking seventh overall.

Building experience

Partial seasons with Yohan Clain and Sabine Piscione developed my experience in the Subaru. In 2012, the 1000 Km brought fifth overall and second in N4.

A full season and the Group N title

Moving to Mitsubishi, I completed my first full season. Four consecutive Group N wins shaped a season which my original biography records as the Group N championship and second overall in the Réunion championship.

Podiums and a new partnership

Third overall at the 1000 Km in 2014, I then teamed up with Souka Zaneguy for the 2015 Tour Auto: sixth overall and first in Group N. Another N4 win followed at the 2017 Tour Auto.

Cars that thrill the fans

The Peugeot 206 WRC, Citroën DS3 R5 and Hyundai i20 R5: three cars the fans love, and three memorable experiences behind the wheel. Their silhouettes, liveries and runs through the stages remain forever etched in the memories of the pouakés — Réunion’s rally fans.

The Alpine chapter

The Alpine A110 Rally RGT brought a new challenge: rear-wheel drive. A major crash interrupted that chapter, but four months later I returned at the Tour Auto and won the RGT class. At the 1000 Km, with Danyal Unia, I finished third overall and first in RGT, set two fastest stage times and established a stage record that year. A season of recovery, rebuilding and a return to the front of the field.
